PBI Polybenzimidazole

Imide polymers are high-performance materials for applications in extreme conditions or where mechanical properties must be maintained even at particularly high temperatures. Application sectors range from electrical and electronic industries to aeronautics and aerospace, defense, and chemical industries, for the manufacture of components such as connectors and insulators, lightweight structural elements, pipes, valves, and coatings for containers of aggressive chemicals, process equipment components, etc.
Polybenzimidazole (PBI): excellent thermal properties and wear resistance at the highest temperatures. Good chemical and abrasion resistance. Used in aerospace applications, semiconductor manufacturing, and pumps and valves for high temperatures.
Also available are:
Polyamideimide (PAI): excellent combination of strength, rigidity, flowability, dimensional stability, and wear resistance up to 260°C. Particularly used in applications where other polymers cannot maintain satisfactory performance at high temperatures.
Polyimide (PI): exceptional wear and creep resistance properties at high temperatures. Low coefficient of friction. Ideal for applications such as bearings, slides, bushings, seals, and structural components.
These polymers are also available in Carbon-filled variants for greater mechanical strength and rigidity, Graphite for better wear resistance and thermal conductivity, and Glass, which increases tensile and flexural strength performance.
